2024 WNBA Draft

 Hello,

Welcome to the blog about the 2024 WNBA Draft. I will be giving updates on some of the top women's basketball players in the world: Angel Reese, Kamilia Cardoso, and Catlin Clark.

These players are known worldwide due to social media and sports, but I will be providing updates on where each player will be going, their round pick, and more.

I have been a huge fan of both women and men basketball since a very young. I loved watching clips of Kyrie Irving as he played in high school. By being a huge fan of Kyrie, I began playing basketball at 3 years old.

As I grew older and fell more in love with the sport, I began watching some of the top pick girls' basketball players around the world: JuJu Watkins, Jada Williams, and Flau'jae Johnson. I loved watching and trying to critique their moves so that I could become a stronger player. I participated in many basketball camps, trainings, and skill improvement events to strengthen myself as an athlete. While watching several different women athletes allowed me to motivate myself to always keep trying. I always believed that if these players that I was watching could make it possible, I also can do the same. I also wanted to make my family proud by doing something I enjoyed and had unconditional love for.

Basketball has been my entire life until it wasn't anymore. I want to be able to share the journey of some of the most talented women athletes. Now I will be sharing background information of each player and some research and opinions.

------------------------------

Angel Reese who is a 6'3 forward from Baltimore, MD. In 2022 Angel Reese transferred to LSU. She led the school to its first basketball national title, is a Final Four most outstanding player, a two-time All-American, and posted 34 double doubles to set an NCAA record. Reese has increased the audience for women's college basketball by playing against players who were just as competitive and skilled as her. Doing social media promos and sponsorships also grew her exposure.

Kamilia Cardoso who is a 6'7 center from Montes Claros, Brazil. She earned Honorable Mention All-America in 2023, Second Team All-SEC, and set the program record with 134 offensive rebounds during the 2022-23 season. Being someone who had to learn another language from the basics and having to leave family behind Kamilia made it look easy. She enjoyed playing basketball, and also made women's basketball more known.

Catlin Clark who is a 6'0 guard from Des Moines, Iowa. She is an All-American basketball player and has been named one of the greatest players in history of women's college basketball. Clark has broken records of NBA players. She is the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer.

I hope that these athletes are able to continue to change the game of women's basketball because they now have millions of people watching them. I look forward to seeing where each player will continue their basketball journey in the pros and hope to hear more of their great success.

  3. Good start, Maciaha. I like this topic, especially because women's basketball is so hot right now. For your posts, be careful with your mechanics--take the time to proofread and clean things up. I see some typos. Also, I think the draft is your overall title, but your post title will be a little different. Remember to keep the paragraphs short (just one to three sentences). For your main post here, I don't see information that we could easily find out for ourselves (or that we might already know). Also, I would think this post should be just one of the three women, unless you plan to talk about all three for every post. Don't forget you need one credible source per post, as well as attribution for images you use.
